Son of an illustrious impressionist painter, he learned the art of painting from his father Camille Pissarro. Paulemile followed in the footsteps of his father, wandering through landscapes and rustic scenes, across Normandie and the Ile-de-France. When Camille Pissarro died in 1903 Paulemile, due to financial circumstances, abandoned his love for painting and became a mechanic in the thriving automobile industry. He eventually abandoned his job and found his way back to the career his father bequeathed to him. Admiring Claude Monet’s work, Paulemile became his student. His works were exhibited at the Salon des Independants, Salon d’Automne, and Salon des Tuileries.
