Finding inspiration in his rural environment, Michael feels drawn to the beautiful, serene trees and landscape of his native Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
A fine art framer by trade, Michael discovered his true artistic outlet in painting. Through his artwork, he is able to blend his love for the outdoors with his love of art. Sensing that trees each have their own spirit, Michael empathizes with his subject, portraying them as stoic guardians, who guide and comfort.
On long late-afternoon walks, Michael finds solace in the whispering trees, and draws strength from their ancient wisdom and patience. His sensitivity toward his subject radiates warmly in rich tones. Michael?s surreal style is both timeless and contemporary.
Michael's work is shown throughout the Southern United States. He currently lives in Baton Rouge with his wife and four children.
