A deep appreciation for the beauty in everyday life has given A.C. Lindner an interest in painting the still life.
“I live on a small horse farm just outside of Austin where I have my studio. The studio has perfect northern light for painting, and I can look out and watch the deer and other wildlife while I paint. I also have the beginnings of a cutting garden, where I can readily find subject matter for paintings. I find inspiration in the smallest things, it may be a butterfly or the way the sunset rakes light across the landscape. Beauty is all around us, and it is this simple beauty that I try to convey to the viewer in my paintings.”
A purest, Lindner prefers to stretch canvases, prepare painting surfaces, grind pigments, and cook mediums in the tradition of the masters. The artist always works from life in order to observe the subtle nuances of color and light that only the eye can detect.
A.C. Lindner was featured as an “Artist to Watch” in the August 2007 issue of Southwest Art magazine, and was awarded the Thanhardt-Burger Corporation Award of Excellence at the Oil Painters of America 16th National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils.
Original paintings and commissions are available through Russell Collection Fine Art, Austin, Texas.
